Lab Manager Service Lab US-CA-Sacramento
Do you have experience with the daily operation of a laboratory that delivers contracted
services to customers?
Are you used to running a lab and meeting budgeted targets? Can you meet customer
deadlines and goals?
Have you managed a group of lab technicians and support people?
Our client is a company with a great reputation and sells services to life science research
customers. This is a very busy laboratory. We are searching for an experienced lab
manager to oversee the service lab to ensure that customers are well taken care of and that
services are delivered on time and on budget. This is a busy laboratory and we are
searching for a person that can mentor the lab staff and grow the laboratory accordingly. This
laboratory works with quality assurance and quality control labs and building relationships
and working as a group are paramount to delivering quality services. The lab manager will
make sure that all standard operating procedures are written and followed. In addition, all
documentation related to the service work provided are completed and the proper systems
are followed throughout the course of the work.
Responsibilities:
* Provide daily operation expertise to the service lab
* Manage all technical staff and focus on delivering quality services to customers
* Write and manage the lab processes and procedures
* Set up processes for documentation control and adhere to these processes to ensure
service quality
* Provide training and guidance to all lab personnel
* Work closely with quality assurance and quality control
* Deliver high quality services to customers while building a top notch laboratory
* Develop budget for lab including staffing, equipment, supllies, etc.
* Formulate short and long term goals
Requirements:
* BS degree in a life science, higher degree is preferred
* 5-7 yrs of experience working in a supervisory position in a laboratory
* Leadership and management skills working with multiple levels within an organization
* Excellent written and verbal skills needed to prepare professional level correspondence
and clear and comprehensive technical reports and proposals (which will be given to
customers)
* Expertise in the area of science for the laboratory will be discussed during the interview
process
* A track record showing an ability to plan, budget, implement, develop laboratory operations,
manage laboratory facilities, improve efficiency, manage personnel and deliver services to
customers is required
The laboratory is in the Sacramento area and working at the facility is a requirement.
